CMEA Board Policy – Membership

To participate in CMEA-sponsored All-State ensembles (Elementary, Middle, or High School Choir, High School Jazz Choir, High School Band, or Orchestra), directors must be active CMEA members from the time of auditions through All-State performances. You must also be a member of NAfME/CMEA in order to vote in the January election. You do not have to be an active member of NAfME/CMEA in order to attend the CMEA Conference. When registering for the conference you need to register as a non-member.

Conference Registration Requirements:

• Your CMEA/NAfME membership must be active through June 30, 2026 and not expire before June 30, 2026.
• If your membership expires between January 1 and June 30, 2026, it must be renewed before registering for the conference.
• To verify membership status, contact NAfME at 1-800-336-3768.

Membership Renewal Through Conference Registration:

• Renewals submitted via CMEA conference registration will not be forwarded to NAfME until April 30, 2026.
• If you renew through CMEA but your membership is already valid beyond June 30, 2026, contact CMEA for a refund.

Important Note:
To vote in the January 2026 election, renew your membership directly with NAfME by December 15, 2025
