Review the NEW National Music Standards! 

NAfME has been supporting the efforts of NCCAS (National Coalition for Core Arts Standards) in developing the next generation of Arts Standards.

A draft of the Ensemble Standards are now open for review!  They not only would like-but we need the feedback of the profession to guide our work so we are asking that you encourage your membership to download the documents and complete the review survey.

Joe Brice - Retired Band Director Joe is a CMEA Hall of Fame recipient and former Colorado Band Masters Association President. Joe taught in LeMars, Iowa for many years before coming to Colorado. He was director of Bands at Smoky Hill HS in Cherry Creek Public Schools for over 25 years. Joe currently directs an adult community band in Highlands Ranch. Michelle Ewer- String Specialist Michelle is the president of the Colorado Music Educators Association She has been a string specialist for over 20 years. Her groups have been selected to perform for the CMEA Clinic/Conference. Her newest passion is Jazz Strings. If the band can play jazz, so can the strings. Have a string question? Robert "Bob" Hurrell - Retired Band Director Bob taught for 31 years in all levels of instrumental music in the public schools. He is a member of the CMEA Hall of Fame, CBA Hall of Fame, and the Hall of Fame of the Music Teachers Association of Jefferson County. He has a BA and MA degree from the University of Wyoming. He has judged throughout the Western United States and is now a playing member of the Jeffco Community Band which he started in 1985. Vocal Music Mentors
Margie Camp- Metro State College of Denver Music Education teacher Margie is recently retired from the Cherry Creek School District where she taught at Campus Middle School and served as district music coordinator. Her choirs have performed at many CMEA Clinic/Conferences and at the SWACDA Convention in Dallas, TX. She is a specialist in middle school choir, but also has experience with Orff and Kodály education. Margie enjoys problems solving and working on creative ways to deal with the many issues that face music teachers. Margiecamp@comcast.net
